Anglia Battlefield Tours was formed in 1997 out of a desire to offer schools the highest possible quality guided tours available in the market place. We took our first tour of 70 students to the Somme in the November of that year. Since then, we have taken tens of thousands of students on tours around the world, and are probably the largest UK schools tour operator to the battlefields of France and Belgium. Over the past decade we have continued to develop the range of tours that we run for schools and colleges, to take in Germany, Poland, Russia as well as the USA.
Each of our tours is designed specifically to support classroom based teaching, linking directly to the new examining board specifications. In addition, we have increased the range of cross curricular tours on offer to include Geography, Maths, Science, RS, Photography and of course Literature. With the expertise of our 50 plus guides we are probably the only company in the UK that can handle this upsurge in guided cross curricular tours that fully meet your requirements.
Anglia also has considerable expertise in providing tours for the military, be this the three levels of tour approach employed by the Army, the staff ride of the Royal Air Force or Decompression tours post operations. We range from a handful of 'boys' in a mini-bus to the 2* General and his staff and are equally comfortable with both. Anglia continues to extend the scope of its tours with a particular flair for catering for special interest groups. These can range from Ramblers to Churches and from Sports Clubs to Parents' Associations. All receive individual and meticulous attention.
All Anglia tours are led by highly experienced battlefield guides so whether it be the soldier’s perspective on the battlefields of France and Flanders or an academic approach for an A/AS level tour to Berlin or Krakow we are able to meet your individual need.
